TUSD has thousands of opportunities for volunteers! To find out about opportunities at a specific school, contact the school principal.
Reading Seed Children's Literacy Program recruits, trains and places volunteer reading coaches in more than 50 TUSD Elementary Schools (and throughout Pima County). Volunteers spend just one hour per week working one-on-one with children in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade who are reading below grade level. The coach's job is to make reading fun and interesting, helping students move towards becoming independent readers who are excited about learning! Volunteers choose a convenient day and time and select a school from among the 35 schools that need new coaches. A FREE 3-hour training is all it takes to get started. Reserve your seat now!
The OASIS Intergenerational Tutor Program in Tucson Unified Schools offers exceptional training for active adult volunteers who want to help a child be successful in school.
