Members sought for Tucson Unified Schools Bond Fiscal Oversight Committee

The purpose of the Bond Fiscal Oversight Committee is to oversee the expenditure of $235 million dollars in bonds over the next several years in projects that will benefit the students, staff and community of TUSD, in accordance with the public vote.

The Tucson Unified Schools seeks qualified individuals to serve on the Bond Fiscal Oversight Committee (BFOC). The original committee was formed in 2004 after voters approved the $235 million dollar Bond package. Potential candidates must be at least 18 years of age, must reside within the TUSD boundaries, and must not be a current employee, vendor, contractor or paid consultant with the District. Candidates with technology, finance, business or construction experience will be considered, as well as individuals who have other interests in, and experience with, the Tucson Unified School District. BFOC members are appointed by the governing board and serve for a specified term. Time commitment includes a regularly scheduled monthly two-hour meeting and additional sub-committee work as needed.
