Notification of Pesticide/Herbicide
Use at School
Students, parents and staff will be notified, in
accordance with State laws and guidelines issued by the Arizona
State Board of Education, before pesticides/herbicides are
used at District schools. This Governing Board Policy and
accompanying Administrative Regulation will facilitate communication
between schools, parents, and the community regarding pesticide/herbicide
application.
Certified applicators employed and/or contracted by the District will provide principals (or other designated personnel) with a 72 hour advance notice and a written pre-application notification. Students and/or staff will be notified at least 48 hours in advance via announcements made through the public address system. Written notice will be given to parents/legal guardians of students at least 48 hours in advance of all pesticide/herbicide applications.
