Fall break and calendar survey results

TUSD thanks the community for participating in an online survey about the new fall break and spring break periods that are part of the 2012-2013 school year calendar.

The results of survey were presented to the TUSD Governing Board at the November 27, 2012, Governing Board meeting.

3,220 people participated in the survey. 80.1% of the respondents were TUSD employees, 31.7% were parents, 8.5% were community members, and 3.7% were students.

The respondents were in favor overall of having a one-week fall break. 76.8% of the respondents replied that the fall break benefitted their child, 77.6% replied that it benefitted them as parents or employees, and 73.3% replied that they would like to have a one-week fall break in the 2013-2014 calendar.

The majority of respondents were also in favor of a one-week spring calendar.
