The vision of Operations is to be the preferred provider of all its services

Initiative 1: Support of the Bond Program

Voters approved a $235 million bond on Nov 2, 2004. The programs under this ballot range from Window Screens to Brand New Schools. The bond money will go to upgrade, update and renew schools, support facilities, and, in turn, reduce daily maintenance requests.
The bonds are sold to the public in increments with the first being in the sum of $47 million on February 15, of 2005. Here is the catch. 85% of the $47 million (Approx $40 million) has to be expended within three years of that sales date. That creates the urgency and requires immediate action from the operations department.

Initiative II: Provide a smooth opening and operation of TUSD facilities for the 2009 - 2010 school year

The sections of Planning, Maintenance & Repair, School Pride Maint. and School Pride Appearance will support the second initiative.
