TUSD is excited to announce its move to a Medical Benefit self-insurance model with AmeriBen as the Third Party Administrator and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Arizona as the provider network.

The new available medical plans are:

  • EPO Plan (Exclusive Provider Option) formerly the HMO Plan – this plan represents the base level contribution from TUSD.
  • PPO Plan (Preferred Provider Organization) – same upgrade offered in the past at the employee’s expense unless otherwise provided in the employee agreements
  • HDHP (High Deductible Health Plan)

Prescription Drug Benefits

The prescription drug benefits program is separate from the medical benefits and is administered by US Script. This program allows you to use your AmeriBen ID card at a nationwide network of participating pharmacies to purchase your prescriptions.

For Specialty Injectable medications, US Script contracts with BioScrip - you may call BioScrip at (877) 842-5097. Click here to access the BioScrip Enrollment form. The Specialty Pharmacy Program covers certain drugs commonly referred to as high-cost specialty drugs. To receive the network discount for these medications, and lower out-of-pocket costs, these drugs must be obtained by mail through a select group of pharmacies processed at BioScrip. BioScrip specializes in dispensing and delivering drugs that require special handling. BioScrip provides additional helpful services, including free courier delivery, medically necessary ancillary supplies such as syringes and alcohol swabs, and education programs focused on the disease for which the medication is dispensed.
